Learning Paths
Learning paths are structured sequences of certifications designed to guide your career in a specific direction. Instead of picking certifications at random, a learning path ensures you build knowledge in the right order.
Available Paths
IT Fundamentals Path
A+ → Network+ → Security+
The classic IT career path. Start with hardware and OS fundamentals, build networking knowledge, then add cybersecurity skills. This path qualifies you for help desk, desktop support, network technician, and entry-level security roles.
Cybersecurity Path
Security+ → CySA+ → CISSP
For those focused on a cybersecurity career. Security+ builds the foundation, CySA+ adds analytical and detection skills, and CISSP demonstrates senior-level expertise.
Cloud Path (AWS)
Cloud Practitioner → Solutions Architect Associate
Start with the big picture of AWS services, then dive into designing scalable, fault-tolerant systems. This path prepares you for cloud engineering and architecture roles.
Linux Administration Path
A+ → Linux+
Combine foundational IT knowledge with deep Linux expertise. This path is ideal for system administrators, DevOps engineers, and anyone working with servers.
How Paths Work
- Start at the beginning. Each path is ordered from easiest to hardest. Skipping ahead is possible but not recommended.
- Complete one certification at a time. The platform tracks your progress through each certification in the path.
- Earn certificates along the way. You receive a completion certificate for each certification you finish.
- Path completion badge. Finishing all certifications in a path earns you a special badge displayed on your profile.
Can I Create My Own Path?
The predefined paths are based on industry best practices, but you are free to study certifications in any order you choose. The paths are suggestions — not requirements.
Choosing a Path
Not sure which path to take? Consider:
- Your career goal — What job title are you working toward?
- Your current knowledge — Take the Skill Diagnostic to see where you stand.
- Industry demand — Security and cloud certifications are currently the most in-demand.
