How Do I Maintain a Study Streak?
A study streak tracks how many consecutive days you have studied on learn.tuxcode.net. Streaks are a simple but powerful motivator — once you have a streak going, you will want to keep it alive.
What Counts as a Study Day?
Any of the following activities count toward your daily streak:
- Completing at least one lesson
- Taking a practice exam (any mode)
- Reviewing at least 5 flashcards
- Completing a Weak Area Drill
- Taking the Skill Diagnostic
You only need to do one of these activities to maintain your streak for the day. Even a 5-minute flashcard session counts.
When Does the Day Reset?
Your streak day resets at midnight in your local timezone. The platform uses the timezone set in your account settings. If you have not set a timezone, it defaults to UTC.
Streak Milestones
Special streak milestones earn you badges:
| Streak | Badge | |--------|-------| | 7 days | Daily Learner | | 30 days | Study Machine | | 60 days | Dedicated | | 100 days | Unstoppable |
You also earn 5 bonus XP for each day your streak is active.
What Happens If I Miss a Day?
Your streak resets to zero. There are no "streak freezes" or paid protections — the streak is meant to reflect genuine, consistent effort.
However, badges you earned for previous streaks are not removed. If you had a 30-day streak, lost it, and are now on day 5, you still keep your Study Machine badge.
Tips for Keeping Your Streak
- Set a daily reminder. A phone alarm or calendar notification at the same time each day works well.
- Keep it short. On busy days, a 5-minute flashcard review is enough to maintain your streak.
- Study early. Do not wait until midnight — get your session in during the morning or afternoon.
- Use mobile. The site is fully responsive. You can review flashcards from your phone during a commute or break.
Viewing Your Streak
Your current streak is displayed on your dashboard with a flame icon. A calendar view shows which days you studied in the current month.
