XP and Levels
The XP (experience points) system on learn.tuxcode.net rewards consistent engagement. As you study, you earn XP that accumulates toward levels — a simple way to see how far you have come.
Earning XP
You earn XP for almost everything you do on the platform:
| Activity | XP Earned | |----------|-----------| | Complete a lesson | 20 XP | | Finish a practice exam | 50 XP | | Score above passing threshold | 25 XP bonus | | Review 10 flashcards | 10 XP | | Complete a Weak Area Drill | 30 XP | | Maintain a daily streak | 5 XP per day | | Earn a badge | 15 XP |
Levels
XP accumulates into levels. Each level requires more XP than the last:
| Level | Total XP Required | |-------|-------------------| | 1 | 0 | | 2 | 100 | | 3 | 250 | | 5 | 700 | | 10 | 2,500 | | 15 | 6,000 | | 20 | 12,000 | | 25 | 20,000 |
Your current level and progress toward the next level are displayed on your dashboard.
What Do Levels Unlock?
Levels are primarily a measure of engagement and dedication. They do not gate content — every feature is available to all users regardless of level. However, higher levels demonstrate commitment and are visible on your profile.
Leaderboard
Your XP contributes to an optional leaderboard where you can compare your progress with other learners studying the same certification. The leaderboard resets monthly to keep things competitive and welcoming for new users.
Tips for Earning XP
- Study daily. Even a short session earns XP and maintains your streak bonus.
- Vary your activities. Lessons, exams, flashcards, and drills all earn XP — mixing them up keeps studying fresh.
- Aim for passing scores. The bonus XP for scoring above the threshold adds up over time.
Do I Need an Account?
Yes. XP and levels require a logged-in account to track your progress. Without an account, your activity is not recorded.
